Transi Tomb

A transi tomb effigy piece with a little inset skull and a bold inscription – in Latin it reads “Multi committunt eadem diverso crimina fato! Ille crucem scleris pretium tulit, hic diadema.” which translates to “How different the fate of men who commit the same crimes! For the same villany one man goes to the gallows, and another is raised to a throne.” Set in a vintage black bevelled wood frame.
