Incubus

This large piece is based on a medieval-era manuscript illustration, depicting an amorous but demonic night time visitor. Curling along the bottom of the design is a banner reading “Omnia vincit amor, nos et cedamus amori”, Latin for “Love conquers all things, let us too yield to love” (Virgil). I’ve set this piece in a highly three-dimensional, ornate wooden statement frame.
