I adapted this piece from an antique woodcut depicting the punishment of sinners in a snake pit in hell. This particular figure stood out to me mostly because of the way one of the snakes has bored its way right through the sinner’s body, emerging out the other side and looking very pleased with itself – I may have originally come from a country without snakes but I’m pretty sure snakes don’t do that. Doused in patina solution, polished and set in a black wooden frame.
