I wanted to do another anatomical piece focussing on human musculature and found a vintage illustration of a flayed man that fit perfectly into a large tall frame I had. I’ve simplified the illustration somewhat for embossing, though the main muscle groups are all there and fine etched dark lines show the muscle texture. I’ve painted him with layers of translucent glass paints in shades of red. This piece is set into a black wooden hand made frame.
