A little while back I created a Leo Constellation piece, using a heraldry-inspired lion mapped to the Leo constellation. It was fun but I thought – why not make up my own constellations. Here’s a little star bat, with tiny clear jewels set in the wings and body and scattered in the sky around him. I added the background lines based on some of the vintage astrology illustrations I have been looking at recently, and added his latin name ‘chiroptera’. It’s set in an ornate style moulded resin frame, this one has a hook at the back and also a fold out stand.
